AC Non-Cycling System for Telecommunications

AC gen-set, typically used where telecom towers are connected to the grid, supporting the mains system as standby power.

Situation

AC gen-sets are typically used when telecom towers are connected to the grid, supporting the mains system as standby power. Although almost all base tranceiver stations (BTS) would benefit from a backup gen-set, an AC system would be particularly advantageous in a region with an unreliable grid infrastrcuture.

ComAp Solution

InteliNano NT AMF continuously monitors the mains supply, and in the case of a failure, will automatically start an engine to switch the load to the standby gen-set. The generator is protected by built in over/under voltage and frequency protection systems. The controller communicates with the engine management unit via a CAN J1939 bus and shows engine values and alarms on a graphical LCD screen.
