Buquebus, based in Argentina, operates ferry services from Buenos Aires to Montevideo and Colonia moving around 2 million passengers per year. They operate the fastest ferry vessels in the world and bring a modern experience to the tourists of the region.

Buquebus had a history of control systems becoming obsolete and requiring service at peak times of the year for tourists. They needed a solution that was able to provide local support, local inventory, and complete system integration.

The change to ComAp controls became critical when seven years ago, a vessel went out of service due to an obsolete part no longer produced for the ferry monitoring service. It was a couple of weeks before the start of the tourist season, and the need for change was evident.

With ComAp controllers, they were able to design, build, install, and commission a new system with more features than original equipment in just a couple of weeks! This allowed  Buquebus to get the vessel back into service just-in-time for the tourist season.
