Mobile Engine Control System

Jamieson Engine Pump and Power commissioned ComAp Australia to install a control system in an aggregate loading truck (aggi loader). An aggi loader is a machine that is involved in the process of preparing bitumen (which most Australian roads are made out of). This machine is designed to pick up aggregate from the side of the road, load it into its tipper truck and sort the aggregate by size.

Jamieson Engine Pump and Power sought the assistance of ComAp to install a control system in the aggi loader to make the machine easier to operate, include extra safety and effi ciency measures and have an automated system. The aggi loader is powered from one main engine via four hydraulic pumps which Jamieson Engine Pump and Power installed. The system records the sequence, as well as any potential warnings and protections for later diagnostics.

ComAp used InteliDrive Mobile as a main interface in the control system and an InteliVision 8 display shows the operator various notifications such as process status, hydraulics, engine parameters, hydraulic circuit pressures, speed and product total. The application ensures ease of use for the operator, increased protection and safety measures, as well as controls which are now automated and located on one common interface.
